Considering that today is day 1 of the first annual Digital Book World conference (#DBW) I spent my morning sorting through a bevy of digital news. Below are my favorite news bites from the last few days.
- "HarperCollins Adds InkPop, A Teen Social Publishing and Social Site" (via eBookNewser)
- A terribly cool idea. A platform for teens to submit writing and receive critique from peers and possibly editors. The idea is that it will be the teen version of Autonomy, a social network for writers.
- "Digital Book World Keynote: Shiv Singh" (via eBookNewser)
- A summary of Singh's keynote, which hammered home the idea of connecting with social influencers.
- "Finding Your Digital Blindspots" (via Chapman/Chapman, @chapmanchapman)
- Chapman lays out three potential digital potholes. Publishers, take heed.
- "Why Mobile Will Win: eReaders are Sustaining, Mobile is Disruptive" (via Tools of Change for Publishing)
- Consider the customer! This post addresses the concept of valuable attributes and the future growth of mobile reading.
